Prerequisites: Participants are expected to have at least cursory familiarity with EtherNet/IP, such as having completed the EtherNet/IP Quick Start for Vendors course.
Description and Agenda
Designed as the next step for learning about EtherNet/IP after the EtherNet/IP Quick Start for Vendors, this one-day training provides a deeper exploration of the EtherNet/IP protocol.
Each participant will use a Raspberry Pi-based EtherNet/IP trainer board featuring a simple EtherNet/IP implementation. Through a combination of instruction and hands-on lab activities using common software tools, participants will gain a deeper understanding of basic EtherNet/IP concepts.
Topics include:
- EtherNet/IP Encapsulation and the protocol architecture
- Explicit Messaging for configuration, diagnostics, and data access
- Implicit Messaging (I/O Communications) for real-time control applications
- Electronic Data Sheet (EDS) File creation and use
- Conformance Testing fundamentals
- Interoperability and integration into a simple control system
Lunch will be provided onsite.
