Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA, — October 15, 2014 — ODVA announced today that it will be exhibiting once again in the Association Pavilion at PACK EXPO International, to be held November 2-5, 2014, at McCormick Place in Chicago, Illinois, USA. PACK EXPO International brings the entire processing and packaging industry — more than 50,000 attendees from every vertical market, including attendees of the new, co-located Pharma EXPO — together under one roof. ODVA’s attendance at the show will provide a critical touchpoint for end users and OEMs who are seeking to learn the benefits about the use of EtherNet/IP and the Common Industrial Protocol (CIP) in their packaging applications.

“EtherNet/IP is the network of choice for many users in the packaging industry due to the ability to integrate functional safety, distributed motion, and energy management while still benefiting from standard, unmodified Internet and Ethernet technologies” said Katherine Voss, executive director, ODVA. “We encourage end users and OEMs to visit us to discuss how to best apply EtherNet/IP to solve their application needs.”

ODVA will be located at Booth N-4527 in the Association Pavilion. For more information about its exhibit, visit www.odva.org or contact odva@odva.org.

About ODVA
Founded in 1995, ODVA is a global association whose members are comprised of the world’s leading automation companies. ODVA’s mission is to advance open, interoperable information and communication technologies in industrial automation. ODVA recognizes its media independent network protocol, the Common Industrial Protocol or “CIP” – and the network adaptations of CIP – EtherNet/IP, DeviceNet, CompoNet and ControlNet – as its core technology and the primary common interest of its membership. ODVA’s vision is to contribute to the sustainability and prosperity of the global community by transforming the model for information and communication technology in the industrial ecosystem. For future interoperability of production systems and the integration of the production systems with other systems, ODVA embraces the adoption of commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) and standard, unmodified Internet and Ethernet technologies as a guiding principle wherever possible. This principle is exemplified by EtherNet/IP – the world’s number one industrial Ethernet network.
