1768-ENBT – CompactLogix™ EtherNet/IP Bridge

The 1768-ENBT module is a modular EtherNet/IP bridge module for the new CompactLogix L4x series of programmable automation controller(s), providing the platform with EtherNet/IP connectivity. The 1768-ENBT provides the ability for the 1768-L43 controller to connect to EtherNet/IP devices such as I/O, Human Machine Interfaces, and drives. The 1768-ENBT module also provides an access point to program the CompactLogix system. The 1768-ENBT module supports all Common Industrial Protocol (CIP) capabilities such as seamless bridging. The module supports messaging, real-time control of I/O, and peer-to-peer interlocking over EtherNet/IP.

When used in conjunction with other CompactLogix bridge modules in a gateway system, the module can bridge messages between EtherNet/IP and other NetLinx networks without the intervention of a ControlLogix controller.

EtherNet/IP offers the advantages of NetLinx communications and is completely compatible with standard Ethernet using a RJ45 connection with low-cost unshielded twisted pair media.
