The 1756-ENBT EtherNet/IP Bridge Module provides the ControlLogix platform with EtherNet/IP connectivity. The module supports messaging, real-time control of I/O, and peer-to-peer interlocking over EtherNet/IP. When used in conjunction with other ControlLogix bridge modules in a gateway system, the module can bridge messages between EtherNet/IP and other NetLinx networks without the intervention of a ControlLogix controller. EtherNet/IP offers the advantages of NetLinx communications and is completely compatible with standard Ethernet using a RJ45 connection with low-cost unshielded twisted pair media.
