ControlLogix® ControlNet Interface
The ControlLogix ControlNet interface allows bridging and routing among all of Rockwell Automation's NetLinx networks (EtherNet/IP, ControlNet, and DeviceNet) as well as established networks such as Data Highway Plus™. Seamless bridging and routing of the NetLinx networks eliminates the need for routing tables or additional controller programming.
The 1756-CNB(R) and 1756-CN2(R) ControlNet Bridge Modules provides the ControlLogix platform with ControlNet connectivity. When used in a ControlLogix Gateway system, the modules can bridge messages between ControlNet or any other networks without a ControlLogix processor. When used in conjunction with a ControlLogix processor, these modules can control I/O or perform peer-to-peer interlocking for high-performance transfer of critical data.
The 1756-CN2(R) with USB Network Access Port is designed for larger or more demanding applications that require a faster I/O response. The 1756-CNB(R) with Network Access Port is recommended for smaller systems, those using ControlLogix Redundancy and as communication modules for remote I/O.
